Fouejou Belviane: A Journey of Success Empowered by AVBS

My name is Fouejou Belviane, a 20-year-old native of Yaoundé, Cameroon, born into a family where my mother is a teacher and my father, a retired military officer. Hailing from the West Region of Cameroon, specifically from the Menoua department and the Fongo-Tongo division, my upbringing was a blend of Francophone and Anglo-Saxon influences, a factor that significantly contributed to my bilingual proficiency.

My journey into the world of computers began in 2017 during a training program at ISTIA in Cameroon, courtesy of a scholarship I earned in secondary school. The exposure ignited a passion within me to delve deeper into computer languages, leading me to pursue a track in computer science during high school and subsequently continuing my studies in software engineering at the esteemed Institut Africaine d'Informatique (IAI Cameroon).

Despite the initial challenge of proving that women are equally proficient in programming, my determination to solve problems and my passion for the field kept me motivated. Along the way, I honed not only my technical skills but also personal attributes such as self-confidence, discipline, and teamwork.

One pivotal aspect of my journey to success has been my involvement with AVBS Workshop. Through their programs, I was able to step out of my comfort zone, embrace my personality, and cultivate a sense of pride in who I am. The questionnaires and workshops provided by AVBS helped me understand my personality better and unearthed my passion for IT, setting me on a path to realize my potential.

Furthermore, my participation in various extracurricular activities, including sports, drawing, and community service, enriched my experience and molded me into a well-rounded individual. Winning first place in the Chinese Listening and Writing competition in 2023 at JSVIAT stands as a testament to my multifaceted talents and dedication.

As I reflect on my journey, I attribute all my achievements to God's grace and the unwavering support of my family. Placing God above all my aspirations and prioritizing my familial bonds have been guiding principles in my life.
